Reducing a dislocated hip

These two images show a case we recently dealt with where a dog had dislocated his hip. In the first image you can clearly see the head of the femur is displaced from the socket on the right side of the image. The second picture shows the same hip after Doctor Chung has manipulated the femur back into the socket without surgery (a closed reduction). This is often very difficult or impossible to do, so great work Dr. C and we’ll keep our fingers crossed that the dog heals up well.
